This project begins with a reinterpretation of the traditional craft of hand weaving. The two-dimensional weaving process is translated into a three-dimensional constructive language in which rhythm, tension, and connection take centre stage.
By steaming and bending the wood into circular forms, a structure emerges that highlights both materiality and craftsmanship through careful detailing. Just as threads intersect and gradually come together to form a whole, the structure is built layer by layer, line by line revealing as much as it conceals.

I also made a lamp from the old beams that once hung from the ceiling of my grandparents’ house. Because the beams overlapped, each one had a notch cut into it. These pieces would normally be considered waste, but I decided to use those very pieces to create this lamp.
